The Caltech IRC for Executive Education announces a new two-day course called “Doing Business with India: Key Success Factors.” The course is designed to provide American executives with new insights and perspectives necessary to confidently evaluate both the opportunities and risks of working in and with Indian companies. The next “Doing Business in India” course will be held on July 13 and 14 and November 28 and 29 2006 at the Caltech Industrial Relations Center Caltech IRC for Executive Education in Pasadena California www.irc.caltech.edu.

According to Nick Nichols Director at the Caltech IRC “U.S. companies invest significantly in overseas outsourcing and India is becoming an increasingly promising market for U.S. products. This course helps executives understand the factors that are critical to being successful from a business and cultural standpoint.”

The instructors for Caltech’s Doing Business with India: Key Success Factors course are Gunjan Bagla and David Everhart. Gunjan Bagla is a principal of Amritt Ventures an advisory service facilitating trade between the United States and India. Mr. Bagla has managed teams sourcing products from China India Japan Singapore and Thailand. He began his career as an engineer for Larsen & Toubro a prominent Indian industrial firm and later worked as director of program management for Tandon Computer. Mr. Bagla earned his MBA with honors from Southern Illinois University and his bachelor’s degree in engineering from the Indian Institute of Technology IIT in Kanpur.

David W. Everhart is the senior client partner for Korn/Ferry International and general manager for the firm’s Leadership Development Solutions business for Asia. He travels extensively throughout Asia India and around the globe and has over 20 years experience working with both Western and Asian managers to develop and implement effective business strategies and communication across cultures.

During the two-day course at the Caltech IRC attendees have ample opportunities for sharing experiences about Indian business ventures including a networking dinner at The Athenaeum Caltech’s faculty club on the campus of the California Institute of Technology.

Founded in 1940 the Caltech Industrial Relations Center IRC for Executive Education offers high-impact learning opportunities focused on business issues critical to today’s executives in technology-based companies. Current topics include Technology Management Marketing Technology Products Global Business Alliances/Mergers and Acquisitions Leadership Development Strategic Planning Operations and Cost Management Product Development Project Management and Performance Measurement. New courses introduced in the last year include Intellectual Property for Technology and Business Development Acquiring External Technology to Drive Innovation Successful Global Business Operations and Doing Business with India: Key Success Factors. Certificate programs are offered in Technology Management Technology Product Marketing and Engineering Management. The Caltech IRC will provide its courses in-house at company sites upon request. The Caltech IRC is located at the California Institute of Technology in Pasadena California.
