A layered flatbread, usually made with wheat flour and shallowed fried on a griddle, called a “tava.” Parathas are popular across India , South Asia and southeast Asia. Parathas can also be stuffed with onions, potatoes, cauliflower, eggs, etc. The word is a combinaton of “parat” (layer) and atta (flour).
