AssetMark, a wealth management platform in Concord, California, opened a global capability center in Hyderabad, in southern India. A global capability center is a company-run office that does technology and operations work for its parent. Telangana Today reported that AssetMark built it for 500 employees.
AssetMark serves more than 10,000 financial advisors. Its website reports over $180 billion in platform assets under management as of June 2026. The company was founded in 1996 and is independent and privately owned.
The center changes how AssetMark works in India. The company has used an outsourcing model there for nearly a decade. The new center puts a dedicated in-house team on that work. AssetMark leased and fully built out its workspace at H-10 by Phoenix Hitec City.
Joshi Alaparthi, vice president and head of India GCC, leads the local team, CXOToday reported. The team will work with colleagues in the United States on technology and engineering for the wealth management platform. That includes using artificial intelligence to raise advisor productivity, improve client service and scale engineering work. AssetMark says human judgment will stay central to decisions.
Hiring is under way at all levels, from global leaders who will manage teams across India and the United States to experienced professionals and early-career staff. Roles span technology, operations and product management.
Two senior executives backed the move. Lou Maiuri, chairman and group chief executive, said Hyderabad’s ecosystem makes it an ideal location to expand AssetMark’s global capabilities, according to the report. Carrie Hansen, chief operating officer, called the expansion an important step in strengthening service to advisors and their clients.
Why this matters. AssetMark’s path is a model other American financial firms can study: it started with outside vendors, then moved to a center it owns. The reports give no investment figure for the center.
