The Chennai center currently supports sixty professionals across research and development, data operations, finance, information technology, human resources and recruiting. Lexitas expects to grow the team to nearly 100 by the end of 2026, with capacity for further expansion. The company, founded in 1987, employs more than 1,300 people and is a portfolio company of funds advised by Apax Partners. Lexitas provides court reporting, record retrieval, legal staffing, document review and process service, and has appeared on the Inc. 5000 list.

“Chennai has become increasingly important to our global strategy,” Vignesh Ramamurthy, senior vice president and managing director of Lexitas India operations, said in a GlobeNewswire statement.

At Amritt, we have had positive experiences with Chennai across over a dozen initiatives ranging from consumer product and medical device distribution to sourcing of automotive products and building engineering centers of excellence.

Why This Matters

Global Capability Centers are no longer the exclusive domain of large companies. Lexitas is a mid-market legal services firm, and its decision to build an AI-focused hub in Chennai illustrates how broadly the GCC model has spread across American industry.
