OIC International, Medi Mold from India’s Andhra Pradesh Medtech Zone (AMTZ), and AddUp, a French subsidiary of the Fives Group, have entered into a partnership to establish a new orthopedic implant manufacturing facility in India. The facility will be located within AMTZ, Andhra Pradesh, a medical device manufacturing park.
Through this partnership, the coalition aims to address three fundamental challenges in orthopedics: technology-led innovation, affordability, and market access.
At the heart of this collaboration is AddUp’s metal additive manufacturing technology, which will serve as the foundation for producing advanced implants. The first FormUp metal 3D printer will be installed at AMTZ, enabling rapid prototyping and faster market entry. Medi Mold will operate the infrastructure, ensuring speed, flexibility, and efficiency in production. This approach allows for the creation of patient-specific, geometrically complex implants with reduced material waste.

OIC International plans to launch a line of implants manufactured in India using this technology, targeting both domestic and global markets. These implants are designed to reduce recovery times, lower costs, and be produced at scale close to delivery points. The facility will also provide an integrated platform for manufacturing affordable implants for supporting government hospitals and healthcare schemes, while simultaneously serving India’s growing private healthcare market.

Investor interest has already been noted by Mumbai-based mid-market investment bank,Wodehouse Capital, with both financial and other players looking to participate in India’s expanding medical devices sector.
