Lara Bezerra, managing director (India) of Switzerland-based Roche, said that the company is looking for startups in India that will help to bring in to the country its evidence-based medicine through its proprietary technology Flatiron Health.
In February, Roche acquired San Francisco, CA-based Flatiron Health, an oncology-specific electronic health record software, as well as a curation and development platform of real-world evidence for cancer research. During the acquisition of Flatiron Health in February, Roche said that the company’s large network of community oncology practices and academic medical centers across the U.S. has created a technology platform designed to learn from the experience of every patient.
Millions of patient profiles are matched through this technology, and doctors are provided with the best possible outcome their patients can have. So, along with medical judgement, the doctor has an option to lean into this data base too, explained V. Simpson Emmanuel, director, Market Access, Roche India.
