Indian Masterminds describes WB Group as Poland’s largest privately owned defense company. It reports that WB Group plans to invest $100 million in India over five years to make drones and other unmanned systems. Vice President Adam Bartosiewicz shared the plan in an interview with The Hindu BusinessLine.
The money will pay for manufacturing and research to supply India’s armed forces, according to media reports. WB Group is looking at sites in the Uttar Pradesh Defence Industrial Corridor, in northern India.
WB Group already works in India through WB Electronics India, its joint venture in the country. The report says the new investment will run through that company.

Bartosiewicz said WB Group sells on technology and capability rather than on price, and that it does not claim to be the least expensive supplier, according to the report. The company wants to draw on its experience to help India build a stronger drone industry.
WB Group is considering exports of drones made in India once the factory and supply chain are in place. Whalesbook reports that the site will serve domestic sales and work as an export base.
The plan follows a visit to India by Poland’s prime minister from October 21 to 23, when the two countries discussed cooperation in defense manufacturing, according to the report. WB Group already sells its Warmate loitering munition in India and that the Indian Army bought it under emergency procurement.
