Pizza Hut India

Pizza Hut India

Industry:  Restaurants

Pizza Hut opened in India in 1996. Pizza Hut is believed to have about 50% of the market share of the pizza market. It has been so successful in India because they offer their pizza at a low price (US$4.4 for four personal pizzas). They also have aggressively marketed and formed partnerships with the likes of Nestle and Pepsi. By using Yum!, a local supply chain for Pizza Hut, 95% of their ingredients are produced in India. By customizing their menu for their meat conscious customers and by separating their restaurant by meat and vegetarian areas they have brought in many consumers.
