Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi

Mohandas Karamchand Gandhi was born on the 2nd of October 1969 in Porbandar, India , and his birthday is now considered a national holiday. He studied law in London, and then opened his own offices in Africa. He had two children with his wife Kasturbai Makanji. He was a civil rights activist, and led a movement in India (which influenced the whole world) through peaceful demonstrations, such as marches, fasting, and renunciations of British rule in India.

Mohandas Gandhi led an ascetic life and encouraged his followers to do the same. He was also tolerant and acceptant of all people, ethnicities, religions, and cultures. Gandhi’s thought process and mode of work has inspired millions of people across the world including famour Americans such as Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.  Barack Obama. His image is  also on the Indian currency such as the INR 100 note
