Kanpur is well known for its diverse educational facilities scattered throughout the city. One of the many famous schools is the Harcourt Butler Technological Institute. Other popular educational institutions include the Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur, University Institute of Engineering and Technology and Kanpur University. There are also colleges for agriculture and aeronautics.
Transportation
Since the city is located at the intersection of two national highways and large supply markets, purchasing and transporting of raw materials can be done easily. There are planned ring highways being built around the city to reduce traffic congestion. Kanpur has a commuter bus service and is planning on adding an additional 300 buses with new routes. There is an Indian Railway system through Kanpur that connects the city to other major points in India such as Kolkata, Pune, Chennai, Mumbai, and Delhi.
