Aerospace Companies In India

Aerospace Companies In India: 1929 marked the first pilots license awarded in India, given to JRD Tata, with the Tata Airlines being launched 3 short years later. Since then, India has continued its dedication to the industry, even having its own Air show. Aero India Show began in 1996 and now attracts some 380 exhibitors from over 20 countries.

Now, in 2008, more than 86% of U.S. civil and military aerospace contractors were planning to enter into joint ventures with Indian aerospace companies, as reported by the Aerospace Industries Association (AIA). Some reasons that India is chosen as the most realistic location for cooperation in aerospace are: English is widely spoken; the excellent structure of the country, the amount of highly educated people, and the country’s strong reputation for aeronautics. Companies such as Boeing are seeking to become India’s preferred aerospace partner and provider.

A report was issued recently stating that India has 350,000 engineering graduates annually, displaying India’s recognition of the importance of qualified engineering began being offered as a post-graduate course at the Indian Institute of Science in Bangalore in 1942.
