Fuel Cycle, an artificial-intelligence-powered consumer insights company headquartered in Los Angeles, California, is opening a Global Capability Center in Vashi, in Navi Mumbai. The center starts with fifty employees and is expected to grow over the next three years. The company has less than 200 employees in the the USA currently.
The Navi Mumbai team will work on artificial intelligence and machine learning engineering, data engineering, product engineering, user-experience design, research technology and cloud infrastructure, taking on ownership of parts of Fuel Cycle’s global product development rather than only supporting work done elsewhere.
Daryush Laqab, Fuel Cycle’s Chief Product and AI Officer, said the goal is to move past scattered research toward systems that keep learning: “AI is creating an opportunity to move from fragmented research towards systems that learn continuously,” he said, according to PR Newswire.
Why this matters: With the right guidance and proper planning a company of any size can now create, run and profit from an India-based Global Capability Center. In fact one of our clients started with exactly “one” employee in the the Denver, Colorado area (himself) and built his entire team in India. And this an executive who is not of Indian origin.
