Ferrari will open dealerships in Chennai, in southern India, and Ahmedabad, in western India, taking its network in the country to five cities, The Economic Times reported. It already has dealerships in New Delhi, in northern India, Bengaluru, in southern India, and Mumbai, in western India. The company said both new dealerships will open by the end of 2026, each with a local partner.
Ferrari, the sports car maker based in Maranello, Italy, announced the plan at Universo Ferrari, its first exhibition in India. The show is at Yashobhoomi in New Delhi and runs through November 1. The Luce, Ferrari’s first electric car, is on show for a future India launch.
Chief executive Benedetto Vigna opened the exhibition. At the opening, he said, according to the Deccan Chronicle: “The first edition in India reflects the importance we place on building an enduring relationship with this nation and its growing community of Ferraristi, clients and enthusiasts.”
Ferrari’s leaders also said they are willing to pass the benefits of the proposed trade pact between the European Union and India on to customers. The report said the pact could cut duties on European luxury cars from 110% to as low as 10% over time. Francesco Bianchi, president of Ferrari for the Far and Middle East, called the pact a turning point for the market’s move toward luxury sports cars. The proposed pact does not cover electric cars imported from Europe.
Ferrari has also worked with students at the National Institute of Design on computer models that draw on ten cities in India. The company describes its approach in the country as “progressive, selective development,” with a continued focus on exclusivity.
