OVS, the clothing retailer headquartered in Venice, Italy, plans to have eleven stores in India by December 2028, Managing Director Sundeep Chugh of OVS India told Business Standard. OVS sells family fashion through more than 2,600 stores worldwide.
OVS opened its first India store, in New Delhi, in northern India, in October 2025. It has three stores now and expects to end 2026 with four. Its newest store, in Mumbai, in western India, covers 12,400 square feet and is its largest in the country. Future stores will run from 8,000 to 12,000 square feet.
OVS opened a second store, at Sky City Mall in Borivali, Mumbai, in March. Chugh appeared at the opening with Tanu Prasad, chief executive of Oberoi Malls, and Fabio Contiero of the OVS global team, according to the OVS release.

Growth through 2028 will center on metro cities and tier-one markets. OVS will use those years to judge how its stores perform, then speed up expansion from 2029, according to the report.
The company targets an average selling price of $19 to $23 at current exchange rates. It is building its own website, which it expects to run by the end of the April-to-June quarter. Online sales will stay small at first and should reach 12% to 15% of sales over the next five to seven years, the report said.
OVS will focus on family fashion for now. It will consider bringing other OVS Group brands to India once the main brand is established.
In a February interview with Indian Retailer, Chugh said OVS wants India to become its largest market outside Italy by revenue within five to eight years.
For retailers weighing India, the OVS plan shows one way to sequence an entry: a few mall stores, a review period through 2028, and faster growth after that.
