Forvia, the automotive technology supplier in Nanterre, France, has agreed to form a seating joint venture in India with Gabriel India, the flagship company of the Anand Group. The venture, Faurecia Anand Seating India Private Limited, will make seat frames and complete seats for automakers in India. Forvia will own 50% plus one share and control it. Gabriel India will own 50% minus one share.
Forvia targets 10% of the automotive seating market in India within five years. The companies expect the deal to close by the end of 2026, subject to regulatory approvals. The two groups have worked together since 1991, when they started a partnership in clean mobility.
“This venture strengthens our longstanding partnership with Forvia, building on complementary strengths and a shared commitment to innovation,” said Anjali Singh, Executive Chairperson of Anand Group and Gabriel India.
Forvia chief executive Martin Fischer said the company named India a key growth driver when it unveiled its Ignite strategy earlier this year. Forvia reported 2025 revenue of $29.3 billion at current exchange rates and employs more than 137,500 people in forty countries.
The venture will have access to Forvia Seating’s full portfolio and engineering, and the partnership should improve access to automakers in India, the companies say. Forvia supplies the seating technology. Gabriel India supplies manufacturing capability and existing relationships with automakers, according to the report.
