The Pune-based Symbiosis International university, through its constituent institute Symbiosis Center for Health Skills, has partnered Medtronic to launch the Symbiosis Medtronic Experience Center, dubbed as “The TechKnow Verse.”
This training facility is designed to advance healthcare education, training, and practice, in India. It integrates advanced surgical technology with cadaver-based learning at a single location.
The center is designed to provide a hands-on environment for medical professionals, including neurosurgeons, orthopedic specialists, spine surgeons, and ENT specialists. By presenting a continuous learning ecosystem, the facility offers early exposure to complex clinical scenarios. Trainees have access to a suite of tools, such as brain and spinal robotics, surgical navigation systems, and 3D imaging. This practical approach allows clinicians to refine their techniques in a controlled, real-world setting before applying them in live surgical environments.

Leadership from both organizations emphasized that this collaboration bridges the gap between academic theory and industrial application. Dr. Vidya Yeravdekar, as well as Provost of the Faculty of Medical and Health Sciences at Symbiosis International University, Dr. Rajiv Yeravdekar, noted that the center serves as a hub for capacity-building and lifelong learning, ensuring that the healthcare workforce remains up to date on the latest medical advancements. Managing Director & Vice President Mandeep Singh Kumar of Medtronic India said, “This collaboration underscores our shared commitment to advancing healthcare education and empowering clinicians with the latest healthcare technology and knowledge to address evolving clinical needs. “
Increasingly, American medical device companies are focusing on training, education and public relations at a backdrop to supporting sales but also as a way to be perceived as a good corporate citizen.
