One of India’s top hospitals is the Tata Memorial Center (TMC), among the largest cancer treatment facilities in the world. My colleagues have visit their headquarters in Mumbai on behalf of Amritt clients.
TMC, sponsored by the state-owned Department of Atomic Energy, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with Wipro GE Healthcare Pvt. Ltd. to establish a cutting-edge Cancer Research & Innovation Center. In this collaboration, Wipro GE Healthcare will serve as the technology partner, while TMC will lead clinical oncology efforts.
The TMC umbrella includes ten cancer institutes across India, the largest and the central hub of which is the Tata Memorial Hospital in Parel, Mumbai.

The initiative includes forming a Joint Working Group to identify key research areas and outline a five-year roadmap. The goal is to enhance clinical research, academic collaboration, and the development of AI-powered, precision-driven cancer care solutions.
India faces a growing cancer burden, with approximately 100 diagnoses per 100,000 people with cases growing every year. In 2023 alone, over 1.4 million cases were reported. This partnership aims to address challenges in early detection, equitable access, and preventive care by integrating advanced imaging technologies, AI-based medical imaging applications, and digital platforms for clinical workflows and health informatics
