Eli Lilly has launched its Mounjaro Kwikpen injector in India, intensifying competition with Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy. The Kwikpen, approved in June by India’s drug regulator, offers six dose strengths ranging from 2.5 mg to 15 mg. Prices for a month’s supply are:
| Dose (mg) | Price (INR) | Price (USD) |
|---|---|---|
| 2.5 | ₹14,000 | $160 |
| 5 | ₹17,500 | $200 |
| 7.5 | ₹22,000 | $252 |
| 10 | ₹22,000 | $252 |
| 12.5 | ₹27,500 | $314 |
| 15 | ₹27,500 | $314 |
Exchange rate: ₹1 = $0.01144
Novo Nordisk’s Wegovy, priced between ₹17,345 ($198) and ₹26,015 ($297) depending on dose, faces stiff competition as analysts note Mounjaro’s pricing is “attractive and competitive.”
Both drugs belong to the GLP-1 receptor agonist class, which helps regulate blood sugar and appetite. Since their March debut, demand has surged, with July sales doubling month-over-month.
