Whirlpool India and Greater Noida-based PG Electroplast (PGEL) have signed a contract for PGEL to manufacture semi-automatic washing machines at their plant in the city of Roorkee, Uttarakhand in northern India.
Narasimhan Eswar, Whirlpool India’s managing director said, “With Whirlpool’s exceptional designs and technology and PGEL’s manufacturing expertise, today’s announcement reaffirms our commitment to the Government’s ‘Make in India’ initiative and providing best-in-class products to our consumers at an affordable price point.”

PGEL already produces Whirlpool air conditioners. The partnership aims to deliver affordable, quality products while supporting India’s domestic manufacturing initiative. Both companies plan to explore additional collaboration opportunities.
