Did you know that 5 of the top 10 consumer product companies listed on the National Stock Exchange of India are foreign owned or affiliated. This is the current ranking by market capitalization of their Indian shares.
Topping the list is the Indian Subsidiary of Unilever . Next up is ITC Limited, which is 25% owned by BAT of the UK. Nestlé is another giant in India and ranks third. Fourth is an Indian company Varun Beverages, which has a strategic partnership with PepsiCo. At Number 9 we have United Spirits which is a unit of Diageo. And rounding out at Number 10 is the American favorite Colgate-Palmolive
Procter & Gamble has three separate companies in India, of which only one is traded in India. If all three were traded, P&G would also be among the top 10.
