Dabur Targets Sugar Reduction in Beverages

Dabur India, a major Indian  consumer goods company, has outlined several key strategies in its annual report:

Sugar Reduction Initiative:
Dabur aims to reduce added sugars across two-thirds of its beverage portfolio. Since 2019, the company has implemented a phased reformulation approach for its Real juice line, resulting in a 21% reduction in added sugar across eight top variants. This effort has led to an annual reduction of approximately 1,300 tons of sugar consumption.

Expansion Plans:
The company plans to increase its rural footprint from the current 122,000 villages to 130,000 villages by the end of FY25. Dabur currently reaches over 7.9 million retail outlets across India, having added two hundred thousand outlets in FY24 alone. For urban consumers, Dabur intends to expand its premium offerings and explore adjacent categories.

New Product Launches:
Dabur introduced 14 new products, aligning with its strategy to expand its premium portfolio and total addressable market. These launches included entries into categories such as mosquito repellent liquid vaporizers, cooling hair oils, gel toothpastes, and value-added tea. The new products accounted for 3.4% of the company’s total sales during the year.
