Nikhil Joshi, the former Commander of the Indian Navy, has been appointed as the new Managing Director of Boeing Defense India (BDI). In this role, Joshi will spearhead BDI’s growth strategy in the Indian aerospace sector.

Joshi brings over three decades of experience in the defense industry to his new position. Prior to joining Boeing, he served as the Country Manager at Eaton for over five years. Before that, he had a 22-year career in the Indian Navy as a Commander. Joshi’s educational background includes a Bachelor of Science from Jawaharlal Nehru University, a Bachelor’s degree from the National Defence Academy, and an MBA in Strategy and Marketing from the Indian School of Business.
Based in New Delhi, Joshi will report directly to Salil Gupte, President of Boeing India. His key responsibilities will include strengthening Boeing’s presence in India’s aerospace market, working closely with Boeing Defense, Space & Security and Boeing Global Services. He will also lead initiatives aimed at enhancing the readiness and modernization of India’s defense forces.
Scott Carpendale, VP of Boeing Global Services for Asia Pacific, expressed delight at Joshi’s appointment, citing his experience and strong leadership as assets for driving Boeing’s growth strategy in India.
