In March of 2024, Rihanna visited India for the first time, to perform at the pre-wedding celebration of Anant Ambani and Radhika Merchant. Anant is the youngest son of Mukesh Ambani, India’s richest man. Rihanna put on a 19 song concert for the guests, performing barefoot as an homage to Indian culture. Her friendliness with fans and security throughout her trip was recognized and appreciated.
After generating buzz, with many news outlets covering her trip, Rihanna announced that Fenty Beauty was finally launching in India, utilizing online beauty platform Nykaa to host her products. Fenty Beauty focuses on inclusivity in shades and products, which makes it perfect to launch in the Indian market.
