Amazon Prime Video India has experienced tremendoussuccess in 2023, achieving record commissions of 22 series and 3 feature films.
Engagement from Indian Prime members has also hit new highs. India continues to lead all Prime territories in member engagement with Prime Video on a monthly basis. Furthermore, Indian content has consistently ranked in the global top 10 on Prime Video, securing 15% of total top 10 slots in the past year.

Earlier in 2023, Prime Video India’s country director Sushant Sreeram reiterated plans to significantly increase investments and commissions in the country across multiple genres and languages. This commitment has already manifested through the high volume of content commissioned this year. Investments have also expanded infrastructure and operations.
The increased investment clearly demonstrates Prime Video’s strategy to double down on the promising Indian market by producing more high-quality local content. This allows the service to better compete with rivals in the crowded Indian OTT landscape. Catering to local tastes through diverse commissions has driven up engagement from Indian Prime members. The streamer aims to build on this momentum by further expanding regional content and market share in India.
