Health-Tech Startup Products Showcased at Global Bio-India Summit, 2023

Numerous products by health-tech startups were unveiled at the Bio-India 23 Summit held in New Delhi from December 4-6.

Officials from India’s various state-owned entities: Council of Scientific & Industrial Research, Department of Biotechnology, Biotechnology Industry Research Assistance Council (BIRAC) National Association of Software and Service Companies, and TiE, were part of the JanCARE  Healthcare Innovation Challenge. (The Hindi word ‘Jan’  means “people”)

The products include:

  • Deep tech screening tool for dyslexia screening in children (Giftolexia Solutions)

Giftolexia is India’s first Deep Technology enabled early screening tool to identify the risk level of children at an early age. It uses a Gaze Pattern Based Screening for identifying Dyslexia. This product was part of the Women Start-up Program at the Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore.

  • AI/ML based screening tool for neonatal infections and antibiotic resistance (Avyantra)

The company’s innovation is called PreSco (Predictive Scoring Application). It uses machine learning algorithms to provide for an early risk assessment of Neonatal Sepsis and aids in informed decision making for antibiotic rationalization. PreSco is non-invasive and provides a rapid risk assessment of babies.

  • Computational pathology platform that is AI driven (Aindra Systems)

The company’s AI platform Astra, is built to detect critical illnesses such as cancer. Astra is a platform that can be extended to build detection tools for a number of critical illnesses.

As the first beachhead, the company has developed a point-of-care detection system for cervical cancer that is quick, affordable and accessible. CervAstra will enable women to walk to their nearest primary health center, get screened and walk out with their reports.

  • Spandan Portable ECG device (Sunfox Technologies)
  • AI wearable-based virtual maternal care platform Savemom (JioVio Healthcare)
  • Multi specialty e-clinic (Yuvitel Technology)
  • Virtual reality-Metaverse platform to check brain functionality in children (Embright Infotech)
  • Onward Assist, an AI-assisted telepathology platform for improved diagnostic analytics of cancer patients (Onwardassist)
  • Clinical chemistry analyser HaemurEx (Arogyam Medisoft Solution)

Along with the innovative products, the JanCARE Healthcare Innovation Challenge Field Deployment Report was also launched, which showcases the on-ground impact created by 15 health tech innovative solutions developed by startups. These solutions have been deployed in primary and community health centers across 12 states bringing together state governments, industry, startups, and other stakeholders.

JanCARE in collaboration with Grand Challenges India, is a nationwide “Discover – Design – Scale” program, envisioned to identify innovative health-tech solutions from startups for strengthening the healthcare delivery in India.
