Indian students received more U.S. student visas than any other country for the forthcoming academic year. The U.S. Embassy in New Delhi and the four Consulates in Chennai, Hyderabad, Kolkata, and Mumbai prioritized the processing of student visa applications from May to August to ensure that as many qualified students as possible made it to their programs of study in time for scheduled start dates. Out-of-state tuition fees, and living expense paid by Indian students count as export revenue for the United States.
