Chicago, Illinois-based Mondelez International that owns the Cadbury brand of confectionery, beverage, and snack food company, has created a special advertisement to promote local stores during the festive season.
Right in time for the Diwali festive season, Cadbury partnered with Bangalore-based Rephrase.ai that specializes in creating “studio-quality ads” with an AI-generated narrator. It also got Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, to lend his image and voice for the advertisements. Cadbury says it is using machine learning and artificial intelligence technology to recreate the actor’s face and voice.

The ad is a part of the company’s ‘NotJustACadburyAd’ campaign that allows small business owners to create their personalized video ad. The Not Just a Cadbury Ad website features a number of clauses in a form where the name of the business and related particulars need to be filled in. Once the details about the business are filled in, the website will use its sourced AI engine to generate the AI models required to customize a pre-recorded base for Khan’s ad. Based on this template, the ad will then see Khan feature the business’ name and type. You can watch a video ad here.
