Today John Kerry, Global Climate Envoy for the United States travels to India to discuss funding to mitigate climate change.
Earlier, the U.S. Trade and Development Agency (USTDA) announced a partnership to support climate-smart infrastructure overseas, launching the U.S.-India Climate Technologies Action Group (CTAG) in collaboration with the U.S.-India Strategic Partnership Forum.
USTDA also announced a grant award to the USIN Foundation to promote energy resilience in India. This activity represents CTAG’s inaugural project which will support an energy resiliency workshop series focusing on decarbonization and resilience.
CTAG will help coordinate the private and public sectors on initiatives that contribute to advanced global action on climate, accelerate U.S. collaboration in the Indian clean energy sector, and mobilize capital for climate-smart infrastructure projects in India.
Acting Deputy Chief of Mission at the U.S. Embassy in New Delhi, Brian Heath, said, “This is an unprecedented opportunity for U.S. and Indian companies to work together to achieve clean energy goals and create jobs in this emerging sector.
