Viacom18 Studios and Aamir Khan Productions are all set to remake Forrest Gump the Oscar-winning classic in Hindi. The project is currently filming and is set for a Christmas 2020 release. The film Laal Singh Chaddha will star Aamir Khan actress Kareena Kapoor Khan.
Viacom18 Studios COO Ajit Andhare said, “Knowing Aamir’s burning passion for this subject for many years, he is the perfect partner to bring to life this dream.”
Directed by Robert Zemeckis, Paramount Pictures’ Forrest Gump released in 1994 was a commercial hit winning six Oscars, including for best picture, best director and best actor for Tom Hanks. The film was based on Winston Groom’s 1986 novel of the same name.
