With a focus to expand the reach of Ayurveda products, Amazon has introduced an Ayurveda Store on its platform. Rachit Jain, head of consumables, global selling, Amazon India, said that the biggest category on Amazon.com is the herbal and beauty segment. “It offers a big opportunity for Ayurvedic product manufacturers.” He also noted that B2C e-commerce was the best way for these manufacturers to establish their presence.
The products will have to comply with the regulations in the countries in which the products are to be sold. “Manufacturers desirous of selling on Amazon will have to submit details about them to ensure only quality products are listed on the site. Amazon makes available the service of third-party certifications to help firms get their products cross the regulatory hurdles,” Jain added.
