At the Worldwide Developer Conference 2019, Apple introduced iOS 13. Along with the many features that have been introduced in the OS, Apple announced a list of India-specific features that the company will include in its iPhones and iPads, demonstrating slow but steady intent behind its efforts in the world’s fastest growing smartphone market.
Users in India will find Apple’s new Natural Language Processing algorithms to bring naturally and contextually accurate Indian English voice responses, in both male and female tones.

The iOS 13 brings support for a romanized, bilingual Hindi and English keyboard, along with typing predictions, as well as intelligent contextual learning.
iOS 13 will support all 22 Indian languages, with the addition of 15 new Indian language keyboards: Assamese, Bodo, Dogri, Kashmiri (Devanagari, Arabic), Konkani (Devanagari), Manipuri (Bangla, Meetei Mayek), Maithili, Nepali, Sanskrit, Santali (Devanagari, Ol Chiki), and Sindhi (Devanagari, Arabic). There are 30 new document fonts for Hindi, Marathi, Nepali, Sanskrit, Bengali, Assamese, Tamil, Telugu, Gujarati, Kannada, Gurmukhi, Malayalam, Odia, and Urdu.
Apple has added optimizations for video streaming performance of specific apps on iPhones. According to Apple, “Video streaming apps like Hotstar and Netflix can optimize the time of day to download your content, helping to avoid congested networks and peak cellular data prices.”
These features are currently in the beta phase and are expected to roll out in iOS 13 for seventh-generation iPhones and iPods. iPads running on iPadOS will also get these features.
