Germantown, Maryland-based Senseonics‘ implantable glucose monitoring system, Eversense, will now be available in India following an extended distribution agreement with Roche Diabetes Care. Currently, Roche is the exclusive distributor for Senseonics in Europe, Middle East, North Africa, Israel and regions outside Scandinavia. The new deal for India is valid until 2021.
About the size of a grain of rice, the Eversense sensor is implanted under the skin of the upper arm and uses a fluorescent glucose-indicating polymer to measure changes in blood sugar concentration, before relaying the data to an adhesive transmitter patch worn on the skin.

Speaking about this agreement, Tim Goodnow, president and CEO, Senseonics, said, “We are excited about the ongoing and incremental commitment from Roche, both from a geographic expansion and volume perspective.”
