Chennai, India-based TAKE Solutions Limited, a business technology company focused on life sciences and supply chain management, will acquire two U.S.-based companies: KAI Research for $27 million, and clinical research and functional service provider DataCeutics Inc. for $45 million, both in cash.
Rockville, MD-based KAI Research is a full-service contract research organization and health research company, since 1986, and its acquisition will strengthen TAKE’s therapeutic expertise in mental health, musculoskeletal diseases, neurology, infectious diseases, oncology and medical devices.
Pottstown, PA-based DataCeutics offers phase I and II-III clinical services, and clinical data management services to the pharmaceutical industry. The company provides SAS-based statistical programming, clinical reporting and clinical data management programming.

“Our vision is to drive services on top of technology platforms or platform-enabled services. Technology should flow seamlessly, we do not want to be the maintenance company like a legacy organization. Our interest is in back-end integration and aggregation engine that will draw in data by being source system agnostic, format system agnostic in real-time environment,” Ram Yeleswarapu, president and CEO, TAKE Solutions, said.
