Researchers from Harvard University and the Indian Institutes of Technology-Madras, -Bombay (IIT -M and IIT-B) are using big data to build the Integrated Database on Infrastructure Projects, India’s first comprehensive database on infrastructure projects.
This mapping will include all types of federal projects, state projects, and public private partnership ventures, and will cover all phases of these projects-—project design and formulation, development, construction, as well as operation as close to real time as possible. This development is led by Professor A. Thillai Rajan, Department of Management Studies IIT-M, in collaboration with faculty members and research students of other institutes including IIT-B, CEPT University, Ahmedabad, Harvard Kennedy School and Harvard University. Rajan said that the Integrated Database on Infrastructure Projects in India is likely to be launched in a month’s time.
