Hyundai Inaugurates India Quality Center

South Korean auto major Hyundai opened an India Quality Center with an aim to play a bigger role in new product development for domestic and international markets. This center is one of five such facilities worldwide after the U.S., Europe, China and the Middle East.

Hyundai Motor India Ltd., managing director and CEO Y. K. Koo said that this move was part of their “long term strategy to benchmark quality products for India and global markets.” Located at Faridabad in the northern state of Haryana, the center will conduct durability studies of existing models and benchmark parts and systems for constant improvement. It will also “contribute in new car development from pilot stage to create quality products with zero defect,” Koo added.
