Though there are no formal plans as yet, it seems probable that Burger King will seek to cash in on the vegetarian market globally with items from the special menu it has created in India for those customers that want vegetarian food options.
Burger King India offers six vegetarian sandwiches, including the Paneer King Melt and a Spicy Bean Royale. Their Veggie Strips in India have been described as “hard-to resist crunchy strips, popping with sweet corn, green peas, carrots and peas,” reports Quartz.
“Looking at the response here, the global management is evaluating introducing some of these options going forward to other vegetarian friendly markets like the U.K.,” said Raj Varman, Burger King India’s chief executive officer.
