Wal-mart, the world’s largest retailer, said that it would have 200 research and development engineers at the @WalmartLabs Center in Bangalore. In November last year, the company had announced plans to set up an R&D center in Bangalore, responsible for creating the next generation products and platforms for Walmart’s e-Commerce business globally. The company has since then build a team of about 20 people here. It aims to add another 180 staffers by the end of 2012. Resources located in Bangalore would work in core R&D works, including new platform developments, analytics, big data and system integration.
