Transportation
The international airport in Ahmedabad is one of the busiest national airports and served 5.3 million commuters in 2008. There are also several railway lines linking the city to other major cities such as Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, and Chennai. However, public buses are the prime mode of transport of the city’s workers. In order to reduce the pollution, there has been a movement to switch all buses to run on compressed natural gas. There is also a new rapid transit bus system with state-of-the-art buses and dedicated lanes along the city roads and highways.

Ahmedabad is well known for its advanced educational facilities that are primed to produce some of the most educated workforce in India. The National Institute of Design, Indian Institute of Management, the Entrepreneurship Development Institute of India, the Mudra Institute of Communications and the B.J. Medical College are examples of prestigious colleges and universities located here. There is also a renowned medical school, a physical research center, and a space research facility. Ahmedabad is a city of diverse culture where government prides itself on keeping abreast of the latest technology.
