While Chinese-Americans and other Chinese emigres have been awarded Nobel prizes, it seems that no mainland Chinese citizen has received a Nobel while being a resident of China. Four Indian have received or shared the prize:

–> Mother Teresa (Peace)
–> RK Pachauri (Peace, with Al Gore)
In addition astrophycisict Chandrashekhar was an Indian citizen when he did his ground breaking work that led to a Nobel Prize which was not awarded until many decades later when he was a US Citizen. The United States dominates this category with 270 awardees followed by the UK with 101.
Miltary budgets as a percentage of GDP
The United States spend over half of all worldwide miltary budgets, amounting to about 4.1 percent of its Gross Domestic Product. China has recently increased its defense spending significantly to about 4.3 percent of its gross domestic product ( but many military expenses may not be shown under the appropriate heading). In 2008 and 2009, India too has increased its military outlay, to about 2.6 percent of its GDP
