Every year, Japan’s Union of Scientists and Engineeers (JUSE) awards companies, factories (and sometimes persons) for their high manufacturing quality processes and accomplishments. Since the year 2000, many foreign companies has been considered for this honor, which is named about American manufacturing expert Edward W Deming who spent many years in Japan.

In 2016, the Pantnagar factory of India’s Ashok Leyland was the winner. The company is affliated with British Leyland and makes trucks, buses and engines in India. It is part of the Hinduja group of companies.
