India Defense RFI Indian Army Electronic Bird Deterrent System:
1. Electronic Bird Deterrent System is proposed to be procured for installation in Army Aviation Bases. Information on the parameters given in subsequent paragraphs may please be forwarded at the earliest.
2. Basic Features.
(a) Product Description.
(b) Whether product is a permanently fixed or mobile/portable system.
(c) Dimensions and weight of the product.
(d) Construction details of the product.
(e) Any additional construction/infrastructure required for installation of the product.
3. Technical Features.
(a) Power Requirements and various options to include in built power back up.
(b) The system should be programmable and offer sonic / ultrasonic / bio-acoustic options or a combination of such options. The following additional details are required:-
(i) Ultrasonic and sonic frequency ranges.
(ii) Ultrasonic and sonic sound pressure.
(iii) Switchable sound options.
(iv) Operation Modes.
(c) Area covered and effectiveness to include vertical range.
(d) Temperature range of operation.
(e) All weather effectiveness and protection against natural effects like lightning.
(f) Capability to function from sea level to 11000 ft.
(g) Type of output with complete details.
(h) Output Emission Cycle.
(j) Output Controls.
(k) Various parts and their description.
(l) Options for extra output.
(m) Interference with Radio Frequencies.
(n) Precautions required when the equipment is operational.
(o) Any effect on human body / animals and at what range.
(p) Inbuilt safety against power surge and fire.
(q) Requirement of a survey to ascertain the types of birds in the local area before installation of the equipment.
4. Interference. The equipment should not interfere with the working of any of the aviation specific instruments.
5. Monitoring Facilities. Details of provisions to monitor the health of the system.
6. Maintenance Philosophy. Information on Life Cycle Maintenance philosophy recommended by the manufacturer.
7. Ozone Depleting Substances Information be provided as under:-
(a) Does the equipment use any Halons banned by the Montreal Protocol and as published in the Gazette of India Notification Extraordinary No 471 dated 19 Jul 2000 for its fire fighting applications.
(b) In case the equipment platform is not depended on Halons and alternatives have been deployed will the Original Equipment Manufacturer (OEM), give complete technical details of the alternatives.
(c) In case there are no alternative available, is the OEM ready to commit to providing life time support through supply of Halons for the equipment platform.
8. Cost. Indicate approximate cost including installation, maintenance, warranty period and AMC details.
