Before they became successful in India, Gillette had to overcome the hurdles of price sensitive customers, low battery usage, and high import duties on shaving products. Gillette became successful by launching new products that were customized to match the consumer’s need, they also made use of a lot of advertising campaigns to promote their products. Gillete’s market in India is the largest in the world, their market for oral products in India is the second largest in the world.
