Venture Capitalists have recently given a large backing to advertising start ups in India. Group M, the leading global media investment management operation, conducted a study that’s findings predict advertising expenditures in all media throughout India will increase 20% in 2009 to $6.6 billion. This will bring India to the worlds 15th larges advertising market worldwide, which is up 9 spots from 26th in 2000.
The MPA, Media Partners Asia, predict that India will lead Asia’s leading Cable TV market by 2010. Starting with only one public service broadcaster, India has come a long way to their over 350 channels available today and is suspect to have over 700 by 2009. There is much research backing the fact that India is the third largest TV market by 2010.
After testing their global outsourcing trend in their advertising operations, US based advertisers such as MetLife, Johnson & Johnson and DirecTV have found that Indian Professionals are skilled with the global positioning and advertising because of all major multinational brands being available in India.
