Richard Nixon (January 9, 1913 – April 22, 1994) was the 37th president of the United States. He visited India once in 1969 along with his Secretary of State Henry Kissinger (who was generally critical of India). The trip was short and relations with India were frosty at the time, because the Nixon administration favored Pakistan, India’s archenemy. Nixon did not get along well with Prime Minister Indira Gandhi.
