ETAuto reports that generator and engine maker Cummins will hire 500 additional engineers for a global R&D hub that is being expanded in Pune, in the western state of Maharashtra. “We are investing $160 million in that. It will be one of the largest technical centers globally,” said Anant J. Talaulicar, chairman & managing director of the Cummins Group in India. “About 80% of the engineers will be doing global work, global R&D, futuristic technologies for Cummins Inc., and so this is our example of export of human services in the engineering area,” he added.
