India Medtronic, a subsidiary of medical device major Medtronic plc, appointed Mandeep Singh Kumar as its new vice president and managing director. Kumar takes over from Michael Blackwell, who is returning to the United States.
Mandeep Singh KumarIn his new role, Kumar will oversee the sales, marketing, and commercial operations of Medtronic’s business in India. He brings with him over 25 years of extensive experience in the healthcare, pharmaceutical, and medical technology industries. Kumar’s expertise lies in strategy development, execution, commercial excellence, and team building.
Prior to joining Medtronic, Kumar served as the country leader at Intuitive India, where he played a pivotal role in expanding patient access to robotic-assisted surgery, building an ecosystem for this innovative technology, and implementing customer robotic programs.
Feng Dong, the vice president of Asia region-led markets at Medtronic, welcomed Kumar’s appointment, highlighting his exceptional leadership skills and deep understanding of the Indian healthcare landscape. Dong expressed confidence that Kumar’s strategic approach will be instrumental in localizing innovations, forging partnerships, and improving healthcare delivery in India.
