Gartner predicts that PCs, tablets, ultra-mobiles and mobile phones in India will total 300 million units in 2015, an increase of 4.5 percent over 2014, according to a news item in emsnow.
“The traditional PC market will grow by 2 percent, with a 9 percent increase in the notebook market in 2015,” said Vishal Tripathi, principal research analyst at Gartner. “The computing devices market is forecast to decline 3 percent this year, affected by weak demand for tablets. We will see slight growth in the overall PC market in India- as shipments in the premium ultra-mobile category should compensate for a decline in sales of traditional desk-based devices.” Sales of mobile phones and ultra-mobiles prop up the overall devices market.
