Some leading research-based medical technology companies, who have made remarkable investments in India, formed an association called Medical Technology Association of India (MTaI) to propel growth in the medical devices sector.
Founding members include Johnson & Johnson, Bausch & Lomb, Smith & Nephew, C R Bard, Terumo, Boston Scientific and Vygon. Other members have also joined the association since its inception.
MTaI aims to partner with government of India in setting guidelines for growth of the medical devices sector by bringing in even bigger investments. It will support the ‘Make in India’ initiative through technology upgradation and dissemination in the provider space, reports Pharmabiz.com.
