The California-based Carl’s Jr. recently opened its first quick service restaurant in Select Citywalk Mall in Delhi. This chain is the third burger brand in India following Burger King and Wendy’s.
“Carl’s Jr. will satisfy India’s diverse palate with its rich, intense flavors featured in their innovative vegetarian and non-vegetarian menu items. We can’t wait for India’s burger lovers to get their first bite of a Carl’s Jr. char-grilled burger while enjoying our beer on tap and soft beverages bar,” said Sana Chopra, the brand’s executive director. For vegetarians, the menu will have char-grilled Tandoori Paneer Burger to Paneer Tikka Masala Burger with mint mayo and the crispy section with its Mango Jalapeno 9 Jewel Burger to Santa Fe fenugreek burger.
Brought to India by Cybiz BrightStar Restaurants through a master franchise agreement with CKE Restaurants Holdings, the parent company of Carl’s Jr., the chain plans to open 100 restaurants in the next 10 years reports The Economic Times.
Retail consultancy firm Technopak, notes that the Indian food service market will soar to $92 billion by 2020 from $48 billion. Of this, the $3 billion chain restaurants segment is expected to see the fastest growth rate of 15 per cent, and it will touch $8 billion by 2020.
