Direct selling firm Amway India plans to strengthen its digital infrastructure to benefit from India’s fast-growing e-commerce sales. Amway India CEO Anshu Budhraja said that in the next five years, the company will invest up to five million, which will be used to ensure that the company’s “website stays relevant, offers best-in-class solutions for our distributors and our consumers.” In the past ten years, online sales have gone up from 15% to nearly 35%, he added.
When asked if Amway will sell its products through other online market places such as Amazon and Flipkart, the chief executive said, “We would prefer to have our own. It is not only about transactions.”
Commenting on the herbal nutraceutical supplements range, Budhraja said, “With this range, we are talking about traditional wisdom. This is what we have made in India for a global portfolio.” Amway India will commence exporting this range within the next two years, he added.
